All good things come in small package Hi, I got this camera in Dec, 2008 and its a great camera. Lots of features and a lot easy to use. Even after 3 years my battery life is great (the trick is to take the battery out when storing the camera and use viewfinder instead of LCD display). I have loads of fun using this camera. I am fond of it. The 18X zoom is a life saver. The only problem I think it has is, the image is grainy (when taken in zoom / night time). The video quality is not that great. Apart from this, I would recommend this camera to any person. I dont agree that it doesnt take macro good. It is pretty decent. Thanks for taking out time to read this review. January 4, 2012
Love the camera but............. Love this camera as I received it as a gift three years ago. Earlier this year the zoom would get stuck and start to make noise like the shutter is stuck. I can turn off and it will do the same. It is sporadic. I see someone else wrote the same thing about this camera. December 1, 2011
Great camera i love this camera, bring having it for 2 yrs now but just this last few month the focus in and out it got stuck and start to make noise as i turn on and off now it stuck in there and the camera in not working any idea how to fix this any suggestion will take since i love this camera and want to keep it for long time September 15, 2011
awesome camera My CoolPix 100 is a great camera! I can capture great wildlife and outdoor shots in a moment which is just what I need. I can't recommend this product highly enough. June 29, 2011
I've used my Nikon P80 these past 2,5 years. A few months ago i dropped my camera on the floor and now the problems pops up. Sometimes I got a message which says that it's something wrong with the objective. The display is flashing, like a broken strip light. The batteries is VERY bad now. Before, I could use the camera for a long time before before the power ran out. But now, my camera is warning me for low battery after like 10 minutes of using. One thing that's kind of difficult if you're a new beginner with this camera is to get focus when you're taking macro-photos. That's something you got to learn with this camera. BUT it's not inpossible to get beautiful photos with this camera. One last thing, the lens cap comes of really easily, so it's easily happend that the lens may get scratches. (I'm from Sweden, so excuse me if I've spelled something wrong) June 4, 2011

July 14, 2008, Nikon COOLPIX P80 | Ned Potter

ABCNews.com's Ned Potter called the Nikon COOLPIX P80 a megazoom digital camera perfect for those looking for big pictures with little hassle. Potter claimed that the P80 was designed to fill the void between standard point-and-shoot cameras and more complex D-SLR cameras. The P80 also comes equipped with Nikon's Vibration Reduction technology and D-Lighting which help address the effects of camera shake and bad lighting in photos. Potter later concluded that the COOLPIX P80's 18x zoom lens is a tremendously versatile lens capable of taking great photos.

I've owned my camera for about two years now and I still can't figure out how to take good night shots. Every time I try they end up being really blurry. Can someone please tell me what I am not doing or doing wrong. Thanks a bunch!

Answer:
Which ever remote you bought I would suggest that you send it back for a refund as the P80 has no option for a remote, it is 10 and 2 second timer only im affraid.
