Nikon EN-EL5 rechargeable battery
I have had excellent results from this battery- lasts as long as expected when shooting, holds charge well when not in use, no "memory" problems. I use this with my P5100 and my P100. Through the NY internet Photo stores have found OEM and aftermarket spare batteries for $20.00-$26.00. Even at MSRP it's a fair price. I like that the charger is external so I can use the cameras while recharging a spare.

Answer:
Battery capacity tends to decrease on cold days. Be sure that the batteries are fresh before heading outside to take pictures in cold weather. Keep spare batteries in a warm place and exchange as necessary. Once, warmed, a cold battery may recover some of its charge. Dirt on the battery terminals can prevent the camera from functioning.Has staff answer

I have 2 EN-EL5 batteries. One is CONJD and one is DOCPF. Otherwise they are identical. What are their ages?
I bought one of them with the camera 2 or 3 years ago (2009 or 2010), and I bought one recently (May 2012). I want to know which is the new one.
Thanks in advance for a response.
